Welcome to my blog.
On this website, you’ll find a variety of different personal development resources ranging from study tips, fitness, health, and productivity advice.
I want my own triumphs and failures to help someone out who manages to crash into this blog.
My passion for writing ignited when I lost my Dad to lung cancer before my Freshman year in High School. I wrote about what I was going through and had a strong desire to help others going through the same thing.
People will be hesitant to ask other people for help, so they might choose an online resource for advice. Aside from dealing with grief, people may tell you that there’s no use in starting a long distance relationship, or that it’s too scary to go travel far for college.
This blog will go against these standards.
Remember to push past fear and say hello to uncertainty and the adrenaline rush, then reap the rewards.
A Maverick-
A rebel. Someone who goes against the rules, thinks for his or herself, a nonconformist…
Go against the norm and set out to work hard for whatever you believe in.
It doesn’t matter if people bring you down, or if it’s something someone has never done before.
If you have a goal, and you believe you can contribute to something that is missing in the world, do us all a favor and show us all what you’ve got.
Are you supposed to live life in a boring way and do whatever people tell you to do?
Do you want to stand up for what you believe in and protect your dream?
…or will you choose to passively accept whatever obstacle life throws at you?
Are people going to try and shut you down whenever you have a different opinion from them?
-Yes, THEY WILL.
Be a Maverick and set a new standard.
Take ahold of the steering wheel and go live life on your terms. Don’t apologize…get out there and become a MAVERICK.
Below, you will find the original “About Page” for this blog.
My name is Jordan Reyes and I am a twenty-two-year-old college student-athlete from Southern California. I moved 3,000 miles away from home to go to school at New York University. I also briefly lived and studied abroad in Madrid, Spain. I started this blog to help motivate and push people to stay true to their beliefs even if they go against the norm. This blog is dedicated to helping people deal with loss, relationships, motivations, and college life. On the West Coast, you can find me surfing all over California and making small trips to Hawaii. During the school year, I’m in New York City. You can find me running or skating through the traffic.
Don’t yell “run Forrest run” to me cause I have heard that so many times. It’s getting old.
A couple of fun facts:
I run track and cross country at NYU.
I am in a long distance relationship with my girlfriend in California.
I am half Filipino and half Guamanian/Chamorro.
I play guitar like a try hard.
I surf, snowboard, skateboard, and love dogs like a try hard.
You can’t beat me in a game of Guitar Hero or Super Smash Bros.
